Ergonomics For Business

Ergonomics is the science of fitting the workplace to the worker in order to reduce ill-health and accidents, as well as improve productivity and efficiency.

Work-related stresses such as repetitive activity, or prolonged periods of being stationary are thought to put strain on the spine and body, causing increased risk of injury leading to loss of productivity and long-term absenteeism. Ergonomic assessments can help to identify the causes of ailments, and provide practical realistic recommendations to reduce them.

How does it all work..?

We work in partnership with one of the most respected and well-known suppliers of ergonomic products in the UK to provide several types of assessment. We usually start with a free basic assessment carried out by representatives of Posturite, who will visit your premises and recommend a range of product-based solutions to help your staff maintain peak output.

For larger organisations or situations with specific issues, there are other assessments available including DSE compliant checks and car assessments. We have listed a few examples below, but if you need to discuss your precise requirements, please click here to get in touch.

How much will this cost?

FREE** Reactive Assessment (non DSE compliant assessment)
Conducted by our partner's local Client Support Executives (CSEs). This type of assessment is product based and provides you with basic advice where you have identified concerns, and want to install equipment to improve the working situation. Although our partner's CSEs are all trained Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessors, this level of assessment is not DSE compliant.
Grade 1 Standard DSE Compliant Assessment : £75
Our standard DSE Compliant Assessment will satisfy the requirements laid out in the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 (as amended 2002), highlighting any areas of concern and providing recommendations for improvement where necessary. A report summarising observations and recommendations will be submitted.
Grade 2 Assessment : £250
This level of assessment is carried out by senior expert Ergonomists, for more severe cases. An in-depth report will be produced covering all areas of concern in detail, and answering any specific questions raised by you.

Car Assessment : £250
A car/van assessment can be carried out by a qualified ergonomist to identify the suitability of the vehicle for it's general purpose, and suggestions of how the vehicle can be adapted to the user's specific needs. The assessment would comprise of a check sheet, digital photography where appropriate and the collection of interior car measurements in order to make necessary recommendations. A full written report would follow the assessment.

We encourage clients, if possible, to arrange a number of assessments in one visit as this may allow us to reduce the total cost. Typically a maximum of 12 standard DSE assessments can be completed in one day at the same site. All prices are negotiable depending on the number and type of assessments required.
