Thai Massage (Lazy Man's Yoga - Clothed Massage Therapy)

Thai massage, also known as "lazy man's yoga", is massage with applied stretches. The therapist uses the palm, thumb, elbow and foot to apply firm pressure, but never to the point of discomfort or pain. Your therapist will massage your muscles to relieve tension, then move you into various positions to gradually stretch you into the tight ranges. The stretches are slow so your body has time to give as you move further- in this way, Thai Massage helps to maintain the improvements you have gained from physiotherapy.

Thai massage will give you the feeling of being lifted, lighter and twisted in all directions, mobilising your joints through their full range of movement. It's a very relaxing experience which leaves you feeling energised.

No oils are used and this massage is performed through the clothes, so remember to wear loose fitting clothes so you can stretch out fully with the treatment.

Thai Massage is ideal if you:

  • lead an inactive life and are feeling stiff and tight
  • are restricted in certain directions
  • have poor posture
  • are stressed or need an energy boost
  • need to improve your flexibility and blood flow following injury
  • don't have time for Yoga!

How much will this cost?

Everyone is different and so are your needs, so just check the indications below to see what you need.

A single session is appropriate if you are:

  • feeling particularly stressed or need an energy boost
  • just coming out of a period of immobility (injury or travel)
  • about to go on a long journey
  • preparing for a sports event
  • embarking on a new exercise programme

Regular sessions (weekly or monthly) are recommended for people who:

  • are chronically stressed or suffering from low energy levels
  • do little or no exercise, but want to maintain good blood flow and mobility into the future

Or if you simply want to take care of yourself and increase your quality of life. Regular treatment every 2-3 months helps you to maintain the mobility you have gained from physiotherapy and helps to keep you mobile from day to day.

A one hour Thai Massage session costs £45, and a 1½ hour session costs £59 (90 minutes is advised for first session).
