Thai massage, also known as "lazy man's yoga", is massage with applied stretches. The therapist uses the palm, thumb, elbow and foot to apply firm pressure, but never to the point of discomfort or pain. Your therapist will massage your muscles to relieve tension, then move you into various positions to gradually stretch you into the tight ranges. The stretches are slow so your body has time to give as you move further- in this way, Thai Massage helps to maintain the improvements you have gained from physiotherapy.
Thai massage will give you the feeling of being lifted, lighter and twisted in all directions, mobilising your joints through their full range of movement. It's a very relaxing experience which leaves you feeling energised.
No oils are used and this massage is performed through the clothes, so remember to wear loose fitting clothes so you can stretch out fully with the treatment.
