Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy
Using techniques like manipulation and muscle release, physiotherapy works to help you improve the way your body moves and functions, lessening pain and discomfort from injury, sport and everyday activities. The treatments we use have been scientifically validated to help a range of problems from spinal pain and injury, to enhancement of sporting performance.
When you come to physiotherapy for the first session, we do a comprehensive assessment to determine the cause of your problem and begin a ‘hands on’ treatment regime to address the underlying cause. Problems often begin gradually and to prevent them from recurring we need to fully understand your body and the stresses and strains that you go through.
Most sessions you have will be varied, as the effect of each treatment is continually assessed. We explore the techniques and therapies which work best for you as we have found that people often improve faster when we use a variety of techniques and in some cases a range of services.
Expert physiotherapy promotes, maintains and aims to restore your physical, psychological and emotional health, showing you what you can do to keep healthy, helping you to feel as if you could conquer the world!
Physiotherapy treatments are covered by all major health insurance companies.

This treatment can produce dramatic results in people with long standing recurrent back pain and helps improve the way your back and neck move and function, lessening pain and discomfort from injury, sport and everyday activities. These treatments have been scientifically validated and help a range of problems, working particularly well in reducing back and neck pain recurrence.

Ergonomics
Ergonomics is the science of fitting the workplace to the worker to improve productivity and efficiency and to reduce ill-health and accidents. Office work involving intensive computer use and prolonged periods of static sitting is known to put people at risk of injury to the spine and arms. Ergonomic assessments identify this risk and provide practical realistic recommendations to reduce it.
For people with existing conditions or wider health issues/disabilities, assessments are an ideal way to gain specialist advice, helping to improve efficiency of working prevent employees from going off sick and assist in their return after sickness absence.

Massage Therapies
Deep Tissue Massage
This massage is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscle. This invigorating experience is a process of detecting the stiff or painful areas by determining the quality and texture of the deeper layers of musculature and slowly working into these layers.
It is ideal for those experiencing aches and pains in and around the spine, particularly office workers and travellers, and for post sporting injury.
½ hour and 1 hour available

Relaxing
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy massage is a deeply relaxing treatment, balancing the senses while being invigorating or soothing. Light flowing pressures are applied with healing aromatic essential oils from plants, flowers, roots and seeds, personal to your needs. Calming, uplifting, soothing and stimulating, this massage blends pure therapeutic benefits with the free flowing movements of massage. The combination of oils (many of which are anti-bacterial) and massage is beneficial for insomnia, depression, muscular tension, stress and mental fatigue.
This massage not only promotes the release of toxins by boosting circulation, it can also improve concentration and hence productivity, energy and stamina.

Hot Stones Massage
Hot Sones Massage involves
the application of water heated basilic (black volcanic rock which
absorbs and retains heat well) of varying sizes to key points on
the body. It is quite an experience to be given a deep tissue massage
with the heat directly relaxing the muscles allowing manipulation
of a greater intensity than with regular massage.
The hot stones expand
the blood vessels, pushing blood and unwanted waste materials through
the body. This has a seditive effect on the nervous system.
Those who
experience a hot stones massage will notice a healing improvement
of the following symptoms:
Muscular aches and pains
Poor circulation
Rheumatic and arthritic
conditions
Fibromyalgia
MS
Back pain
Stress, anxiety and tension
Insomnia
Depression

Other Treatments
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient medical system based on the principle that our health is dependent on the balanced functioning of the body’s motivating energy, known as Qi. Qi is concentrated in pathways, or meridians, beneath the skin. Inserting fine needles into these acupoints incites the body’s own healing energy, restoring the body to a state of balance. It improves circulation and acts as a block to painful areas.
Acupuncture is effective treating a wide range of physiological and psychological imbalances, illnesses and disharmonies. It is well known as a means of pain relief, very successful in the treatment of backache, joint problems, tennis elbow, migraines, and menstrual pain. Innately balancing, acupuncture is effective increasing energy levels, regulating hormonal function, and combatting psychological disharmonies such as stress, addiction and depression.
Traditionally acupuncture considers all illnesses in terms of imbalances of energy. Therefore, acupuncture benefits almost any condition, and can be used as a preventative measure to maintain health and internal harmony.

This is a powerful but gentle treatment which harnesses your body’s capacity to heal itself. It is suitable for a wide range of conditions such as neck and back pain, chronic pain, headaches, anxiety and general stress of a busy life.

Golf Swingbuster Assessment
Recognised and approved by the PGA and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and designed by Golf Coaches and Leading Physiotherapists, Swingbuster exercises help the body to ‘give’ in the right areas for golf and creates good ‘muscle memory’ programmes which change the way that the body naturally moves when swinging the club.
Through research, it has been found that Golfers problems such as reduced power, slicing and hooking often stem from specific areas of the body, such as tightness in your back (reduced power), reduction of arm rotation (slicing and hooking) and stiffness in your hips (topping). Rather than compensating for these problems, the Swingbuster programme identifies the steps you need to take to release the specific stiffness, improve specific muscular control and maximise your potential without giving you any more to think about when addressing the ball.
To realise effortless power and minimise injury and strain, whilst improving your control and consistency, try our Swingbuster Golf Treatment.
