According to Chinese medical theory, lines and wrinkles on the face result from a loss of nourishment to the facial muscles, leading to sagging of the muscles. By inserting very fine needles into the skin on the face, the acupuncturist is able to direct the flow of energy, or Qi, to undernourished muscles and skin.
The first treatment includes an in-depth consultation to identify facial patterns and diagnosis based on Chinese medical principles. Very fine needles are inserted into the face and the surrounding muscles are stimulated. Body points may also be used for underlying weaknesses or to increase circulation to the face.
The treatment is completed with an aromatherapy facial massage combining nourishing oils with acupressure and lymphatic drainage techniques. This treatment is very relaxing and has the added bonus of combating stress. The overall effect is detoxifying and tonifying leaving the muscles stronger, the skin more elastic and your appearance radiant.
How much will this cost?
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a lovely treat as a stand-alone treatment to boost your energy and appearance. However, the effects of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture are cumulative, so it is advisable to book a course of treatments for longer lasting results.
The initial one-hour Acupuncture assessment and treatment costs £50. Your therapist will then advise you as to how many sessions you may need.
