Vertigo is the sensation that either yourself or the environment is moving when no actual movement occurs. If you have these symptoms it is advisable to get checked by your GP or ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat Specialist) to rule out any underlying medical conditions.
Vertigo is most commonly caused when there is a disruption of your balancing mechanism in the inner ear, such as when you have an ear infection.

A feeling of Vertigo can also be referred from your neck muscles and the upper spine, so we will also look at these areas to ascertain whether they are responsible for any of your symptoms.
We use specific exercises which are designed to re-train the vestibular nerve. This nerve is often responsible for your symptoms and these exercises help to reduce your symptoms. We also assess your neck and treat any problems there, to address your problem from every possible angle and give you the best possible recovery.
Everyone is different and so are your needs. Depending on your assessment, you may need just 2 or 3 sessions and for more long standing and complex problems, you may need several treatments. If your neck is involved and once you are problem free, you should come for check-ups every 6 months/yearly to pick up problems early and make sure they stay away, just like you do with your dentist.
Your initial 45 minute Physiotherapy Assessment costs £47, and then regular 30 minute review sessions cost £38.
